Though I have more stitched since this pic, here is my progress of my 2nd WIPocalypse project, which I hope to have finished before the next full moon, February 7th.
My wonderful Daddy died Jan. 5th, and I have been finding solace in my stitching and reading, but DH has been scanning pix of old photos of him so I can do a tribute to him here. We have been surrounded by friends and family since his death, but the dust has settled, and I miss his beautiful smile and his loving concern for his kids, namely me. In the last few years, I have been going out to lunch with my parents 3 times a week. I treasure those hours spent with them because at my age, I was so terribly lucky to still have my parents. They would drop me off at my house, and because I am alone 3 days a week, Daddy would always say to me, "We'll see you tomorrow, but if you need us before then, give us a call." Thank you, Daddy, for always loving me and being concerned.

That was really sweet of your Dad to tell you to give them a call if you needed them. :) Again, my condolences on your loss.

Love your SAL piece. It's really pretty.
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It's always so hard to cope with the loss of a loved one. I hope that your stitching will give you consolation whenever you need it.
I'm so sorry to hear the sad news about your father. It's lovely to hear you're fondly remembering him and finding comfort in stitching. Best wishes to you at this difficult time.
I am so sorry about the loss of your dad! He sounds like such a special man. I wish I could give you a hug!

Your stitching does look beautiful. My condolences on your father, it is hard and always will be. In time it will not hurt so much. June will be 15 years since my mom passed away. There are still the rough moments but that is to be expected. He sounds like he was a wonderful father.
