the bottom drops out. I had thought I would get back to being active in my Yahoo Groups and blogging regularly, but my granddaughter was ordered out of her home again, so I have my little darling and have had since New Year's Day. I do wish her parents wouldn't mess up the "damage control" I have to do when I get her. She came to me with this hateful chip on her shoulder. She came to me sullen and unhappy; now she's happy as a clam, and I'm enjoying every minute with her. It took me a while to get her to this point, and it's never easy and takes a chunk of my time, talking candidly and loving her back to her potential. Now that we've reached this point, I feel I have more time. I'm not sure she's going back this time. At least I don't want her to, but I know that this is not the way things should be, and I know she'll get to missing her home, her kitties, brothers and possibly her parents when they're not yelling and screaming. Holy cow! What a mess!
Thought I'd share the things I just finished for my great nephew. I crocheted a dream puff afghan that I've saved for the right baby. The bib is designed by me, and I took a few of the motifs from a Sue Cook book, "Wonderful Cross Stitch Collection." I put them all together and designeds the sand dune, sand castle, pond, etc., on the left side. Since the bib was woven with ducks in it, I stitched "Jacob's Just Ducky" and stitched the nautical scene. There is also a burp towel with a duck, and I put his initials on the blocks beside the duck. The funny thing was, the only thing I had to buy was the rubber ducky. I already had the afghan done; the bib and towel were in my stash.
Speaking of stash, I'm still loaded with new stuff I've got to get posted, but that gives me things to do another day. Forgive me for not getting around to visit your blogs. I'll get there eventually... promise. I've missed seeing what everyone is up to these days. Thanks to all who have been so kind as to visit my "iffy" blog when there was nothing to see, lol!

Poor little peanut, your granddaughter. So very sorry to hear your granddaughter is having such a difficult time. Not to step too high on my soapbox, do people not realize they get out what they put in to children. She is blessed to have you!
Your such a sweet great Aunt and grandma. Those are really nice finishes.
I do hope everything works out with your granddaughter.
What lovely gifts for Jacob! Too cute to spit up carrots on.
Ah, so sorry about M. again. I'm glad she has you, but I hate to say this, we all can't run away from our problems. I'm sure things will get worked out. Everyone involved has to be fair and think what would be the best for all involved, not just themselves. I know how much you love her.
I'm sorry to hear about your granddaughter having a rough spell. She is very lucky to have you be there for her. (((HUGS)) to the both of you:)
Nancy, life doesn't always happen to us as it "should". Perhaps God has a different plan for all of you. Sounds like your gd is happiest with you, behaves well, gets the love she needs and you enjoy having her. Could this situation be what's right for everyone? Hugs and prayers that wisdom and love reign in this situation. :)
Nancy Sorry I haven't written lately, I started a new job(Yeah!), anyway I hope you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Very cute! I am glad you are able to make your granddaughter happy again.
